Boat owners will be able to visit from Monday. Descaling begins

The marinas of La Duquesa in Manilva, Estepona and Marina del Este, in Almuñécar, managed by the Mediterranean Marines Group, will start on Monday 4 May to implement the measures envisaged in the phases of the de-escalation of confinement on the occasion of Covid-19 as established by the Government of Spain.

From the 11 May boats may be used, following all safety and hygiene standards.

We reproduce the communiqué issued from the Spanish Federation of Associations of Sports and Tourist Ports of which the Mediterranean Marines Group is part through the Association Marinas de Andalucía.

The latest statement from the Directorate-General of the Merchant Navy, provides that, starting next Monday 4 May, visits by owners to their vessels will be possible for safety and maintenance checks, provided that the boat is in the same municipality in which the owner resides. Only one person may access the boat to carry out these activities and the procedures and protocols established by the marinas will be respected at all times. "All our ports have been prepared for days to start receiving visits from boat owners with absolute security. This phase of de-escalation will allow us to closely check the effectiveness of the measures, being able to have time to test them and be able to correct or improve if the situation requires it", says Gabriel Martinez, president of the Spanish Federation of Sports and Tourist Port Associations.

The Feapdt appreciates the intense work done by all the autonomous associations of ports in Spain, that make up the Spanish Federation and wants to highlight the intense collaboration and support of the Spanish Maritime Cluster. In addition to showing recognition to the other associations of the nautical sector for the work they have done in recent weeks. "It is also worth highlighting the sensitivity and understanding of the Directorate General of the Merchant Navy towards marinas and touristic ports and recreational nautical", Martinez points out. Earlier this week, Feapdt and the Spanish Maritime Cluster delivered to the DGMM a document with a series of requests "which we see fully contained in their latest communiqué".
