The blue flag flies at the Puerto Deportivo de Estepona by 21 consecutive years
  • Mediterranean Marinas celebrates the official hoisting event with the presence of APPA and Estepona City Council
  • The event was attended by the mayor of the municipality, José María García Urbano; the appA manager, Mariela Fernandez; the territorial delegate of Development and Housing of the Junta de Andalucía, Francisco Fernandez; the chairman of the Mediterranean Marines Group, José Carlos Martín and the managing director of the Port of Estepona, Manuel Raigón, among others.

Since this morning the Blue Flag already waves in the Marina of Estepona, a badge that recognizes the quality of the services provided in these facilities, as well as meeting a number of environmental conditions in its management. Representatives of the most important public bodies related to ports such as the territorial delegate of Fomento y Vivienda de la Junta de Andalucía have attended the flag-raising event, Francisco Fernández and the manager of the Public Ports Agency of Andalusia (Appa), Mariela Fernandez; the mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano; the chairman of the Mediterranean Marines Group, José Carlos Martín and the managing director of the Port of Estepona, Manuel Raigón.

Next to them was also the Chief Operating Officer of the Mediterranean Marine Group, Alejandro Suanes; Estepona City Council's Beach Delegate, Susana Aragon; the new president of the Royal Yacht Club of Estepona, Manuel Pavón; representatives of Salvamento Marítimo and all personnel who are part of the Marina of Estepona.

José Carlos Martín wanted to thank the attendees for accompanying them at this important moment for the Port of Estepona that, "one more year, has waved its Blue Flag as a badge of quality in its facilities and the services it offers its customers". Mariela Fernandez, for its part, thanked Marinas of the Mediterranean for the invitation to the event and stressed that they are 16 Andalusian marinas that have blue flags, as a symbol of excellence of these navies.
José María García Urbano, has highlighted "the good health enjoyed by the Marina of Estepona" and how it has been able to open itself to the population as a benchmark in the nautical and leisure sector.

This recognition is given by the European Foundation for Environmental Education (Fee) and the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (Adeac) for more than 30 years in recognition of environmental quality and are awarded after a thorough analysis by ADEAC technicians on safety conditions in the facilities, environmental and water quality, sustainable management, the services offered to the user, social integration, as well as the informative and formative work of each port.
