Mediterranean Marinas runs more than 300 performances of improvement in their ports for the summer season

  • Last spring, the operations department of the Mediterranean Marine Group has carried out numerous actions within the annual and maintenance plan in its three ports.
  • The Port of The Duchess, the Marina of Estepona and Marina del Este already look their best to receive the arrival of many visitors and residents during the summer period.

MARINAS DEL MEDITERRÁNEO , which integrates the concessionaires of the marinas of Estepona, LA DUQUESA (Manilva) and Marina del Este (Almuñecar), has carried out during the spring season the execution of more than 300 actions to improve and improve the facilities and services of the marinas that make up the group. The three port areas offer their best appearance to receive the large influx of visitors and foreigners that occurs during this summer season.

In the Puerto Deportivo de la Duquesa important annual tasks have been carried out, such as the transfer of sand from the port, the replacement of the breakwater of the Levante part, the revision of the transformation centre, wired, assembly and replacement of various electrical panels, as well as the painting of the control tower, the pontoons, banks and walls, Sidewalks, street furniture, petrol station and manholes.

It also highlights the complete replacement of several moorings of boats and change of various anchoring ropes of moorings,  replenishment and planting of gardening or the installation of a new platform for jet skis. Within the environmental management has proceeded to the removal and labeling of hazardous waste from the shipyard and the port.

In terms of human resources, the staff of the Port of La Duquesa has received the internal training of the Emergency Plan in order to be able to give a quick and effective response to an emergency, as well as the formation of the Blue Flag.

Improvements also in the Marina of Estepona and Marina del Este

As for the improvement actions in the Estepona Marina highlight those related to the review of metering centers and transformation, the revision of the grounding installation or the reform of the electrical panel of certain berths. Also, numerous works of painting of façade of premises and buildings have been carried out, of pontoons, docks and curbs of planters, as well as all horizontal signage. Sanitation wells have also been cleaned and deratized and disinsection in various areas of the port area, as well as the repair of several mooring points.

Investment in new technologies is also a priority for Marinas del Mediterráneo. For this reason, an application has been implemented in the three ports through Tablet thanks to which sailors will be able to perform, among other things, the corresponding daily port review part. This application will allow to treat all incidents more effectively, which will result in an improvement in customer service.

Alejandro Suanes, Director of Operations of the Mediterranean Marine Group, considers it essential to carry out all these actions "aimed at maintaining in all the ports of the group, the quality of both the facilities and the services provided to customers".
