The Blue Flag is waving in the Marina of Estepona 21 consecutive years

  • Marinas del Mediterráneo celebrates the official act of raising with the presence of officials of the APPA and the City of Estepona
  • The mayor of the municipality attended the event, José María García Urbano; the appA manager, Mariela Fernandez; the territorial delegate of Development and Housing of the Junta de Andalucía, Francisco Fernandez; the president of the Mediterranean Marine Group, José Carlos Martín and the managing director of the Port of Estepona, Manuel Raigón, among others.

Since this morning the Blue Flag already flies in the Marina of Estepona, a distinctive that recognizes the quality of the services provided in these facilities, as well as that it meets a series of environmental conditions in its management. The act of raising the flag has been attended by representatives of the most important public bodies related to the ports such as the territorial delegate of Development and Housing of the Junta de Andalucía, Francisco Fernández and the manager of the Public Agency of Ports of Andalusia (Appa), Mariela Fernandez; the mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano; the president of the Mediterranean Marine Group, José Carlos Martín and the managing director of the Port of Estepona, Manuel Raigón.

Joining them was also the Director of Operations of the Mediterranean Marine Group, Alejandro Suanes; the delegate of Beaches of the City of Estepona, Susana Aragon; the new president of the Real Club Náutico de Estepona, Manuel Pavón; representatives of Salvamento Marítimo and all the personnel that is part of the Marina of Estepona.

José Carlos Martín wanted to thank the attendees for accompanying them at this important time for the Port of Estepona that, "one more year, it has flying its Blue Flag as a hallmark of quality in its facilities and the services it offers to its customers". Mariela Fernandez, for his part, thanked Marinas del Mediterráneo for the invitation to the event and stressed that they are 16 Andalusian marinas with blue flags, as a symbol of excellence of these marinas.
José María García Urbano, has revealed "the good health enjoyed by the Marina of Estepona" and how it has been able to open up to the population as a benchmark in the nautical and leisure sector.

This recognition is granted by the European Foundation for Environmental Education (Fee) and the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (Adeac) more than 30 years in recognition of environmental quality and are awarded following a comprehensive analysis of ADEAC technicians on safety conditions in the facilities, environmental and water quality, sustainable management, the services offered to the user, social integration, as well as the dissemination and formative work of each port.
