The act of hoisting the flag has come the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jimenez; the deputy mayor, Diego José Jimenez; the managing director of the ports managed by the Mediterranean Marine Group, Manuel Raigón; the Group's Chief Operating Officer, Alejandro Suanes, as well as the human team that is part of the Port of La Duquesa and the companies and shops that have establishments in the port precinct.

Manuel Raigón has thanked the presence of the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jimenez, in the act of hoisting the blue flag. Raigón has highlighted the need for the collaboration of the public-private initiative both in the maintenance and promotion of facilities such as the Marina of La Duquesa, noting that "the relationship between Mediterranean Navies and Manilva City Council is, in this case, an example of good collaboration".

After the hoisting of the Blue Flag, an informative talk has taken place by Elena Bañares, department of Botany and Plant Physiology of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Malaga, about the marine sites of special environmental interest in the harbour environment, as well as on existing protected species and rules of use in places where they are regulated.

The Blue Flag recognition is granted by the European Foundation for Environmental Education (Fee) and the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (Adeac) more than 30 years in recognition of environmental quality and are awarded following a comprehensive analysis of ADEAC technicians on safety conditions in the facilities, environmental and water quality, sustainable management, the services offered to the user, social integration, as well as the dissemination and formative work of each port.
