Marinas del Mediterráneo, S.A.
(Estepona Marina)
This marina is situated near the centre of the town of Estepona (Málaga). It has 447 berths of up to 35 metres in length. Its facilities include many services, from electricity, water and toilets, to wireless Internet, as well as all types of provisioning and other necessities required by clients. Within the area there are also shops, a children’s playground and innumerable other services for the use of all visitors. Marinas del Mediterráneo also organises a weekly open-air market which is very popular in the town and attracts a large number of tourists.
The character of Estepona is typically Andaluz, with its own traditions related both to the sea and to the land. The town itself has created a very personal atmosphere for tourists, making it one of the most attractive areas on the Costa del Sol. Estepona has many excellent restaurants and its local gastronomy includes a magnificent variety of freshly caught fish which can be savoured in the traditional bars and taverns so typical of Andalucía. More than 20 kilometres of fine sandy beaches extend along its coastline under the Mediterranean sun. Mention must also be made of the internationally recognised summer courses held in the town under the cultural programme: ‘Estepona City of Journalism’.
Marina del Mediterráneo Duquesa, S.A.
(La Duquesa Marina)
This company, based in Manilva (Málaga), manages the marina at La Duquesa with its 328 berths ranging in length from 8 to 20 metres.
The company is dedicated to the rental of berths and to the supply of various services to users of those berths. There is a fuel supply station at the marina, as well as supplies of electricity, water and wireless Internet for clients.
The port area has a boatyard with a travel lift for weights up to 70 mT. The marina is, at present, the centre of increasing tourist activity for the area. It is surrounded by friendly hotels and urbanisations attracting visitors to spend excellent beach, sun and sea holidays. This is a peaceful place that combines the Mediterranean light in perfect harmony with recreational boating and the traditional flavour of small boats which sail out every morning to catch fish.
Coming from the West, on the borders of the province of Cádiz and already well into the Costa del Sol, Manilva is the first town situated in the province of Málaga. Manilva’s economy is based largely on agriculture and fishing, although tourism is becoming increasingly more important. This is thanks to the nearby countryside where one of the largest concentrations of world class golf courses can be found. This seaside town provides numerous attractions, including the culture of other civilisations which inhabited the Málaga coastline. Also on offer is an extensive range of gastronomy: Italian, Oriental, Indian, French, Argentinian and, of course, Mediterranean. The richness of its food is based fundamentally on the variety of fish and includes one of the most well known dishes of the area: sopa de tomate, a soup made with local tomatoes.
Marinas del Mediterráneo Este, S.L.
(Marina del Este)
This marina is in La Herradura, Almuńécar (Granada), part of a nature reserve of outstanding beauty located between the mountains and the sea. The district of La Herradura belongs to Almuńécar, the last town you come to from the East before entering into the province of Málaga. La Herradura itself has magnificent beaches and there are many hidden coves in the area of Cerrogordo. Also in the area is the naturist beach of Cantarriján. Due to its attractive features the beach at La Herradura guarantees the visitor a perfect stay in one of the most delightful parts of the coast.
